HOUSE prices are unlikely to crash in the next three years, according to the Treasury, despite predictions of a slump as the property market threatens to boil over.

The UK housing market stabilised in January, according to Halifax, the UKs largest lender, which on Thursday reported an 0.8 per cent increase in prices compared with December and the first upturn in agreed sales by its estate agents for six months.
